Lovely car, almost perfect (prefer solar orange). Very tempted but Outlander PHEV a chunk of change cheaper at the moment. How much movement is there in the price?
Hi,
Takes my fancy but slightly worried about insurance.
What group is it and could you give me a guide price?
Do you use BMW insurance and do you know whether they cover drivers over 80?
Also, how long is the warranty and is it transferable?
Thanks
Insurance group: 21
I pay £280/year with Churchill (I have also used swiftcover.com before)
I've not used BMW insurance so I cannot comment about this.
BMW Warranty + Breakdown cover: 3 years/unlimited mileage from new - so until March 2018
Battery warranty: 8 years/100,000 miles - March 2023
BMW Servicing prepaid until March 2020 or 60,000 miles
12 Year anti-corrosion warranty
Thanks for your reply Mike.
It seems I was concerned unnecessarily about the insurance, IG21 seemed to imply high cost.
I've not had an EV before so it seems to me that my next move is to get a test drive on an i3 pdq to find out how I like it.
I have a 'windfall' coming mid January so I need to get my act together and do my homework before then so I will be in a position to make you an offer when it arrives.
Vehicle collected and given a good scrub; two short drives; one happy customer! Thanks @SMike
