    Today, I read with interest that Mitsubishi is to debut its all-electric 5-seat compact SUV at the 2015 Tokyo[IMG]Motor Show.

    Called the eX Concept it not only looks sweet, but boasts an impressive 400 km (nearly 250 miles) of range. See:

    I have to say I've seen Mitsubushi concept cars come and go; however, that was before the run-away success of the Outlander - there has to be renewed confidence in their EVs as well as hybrids. This car is proposed to me smaller than the ASX - so this could be a stunning little car!

    As sweet is a taste sensation I would opine it is the mouth of the beholder rather than the eye

    Pretty pictures, would expect a real concept car to at least be modelled by now.

    If that is the standard we can expect, I'll order two!

    It's only 8 days until the show - so let's hope for something more than a plastic facsimile!

    Suicide doors and the rear end are very i3-like too.

    Could be nice.

    There is more than the mini-SUV EV to be trailed in Tokyo!

    I'm now a great fan of hybrids; however for many it's the only viable alternative, so how about this list to attract even broader interest in the Mitsubishi Tokyo line-up:
    • A Plug-in hybrid between ASX and Outlander;
    • An new enlarged Outlander PHEV;
    • A Plug-in hybrid between Outlander PHEV and Shogun
    • Maybe plug-in hybrid Shogun!
    My only concern is that the Mitsu new models will try to match the BMW, Merc and Audi hybrids. In my view that would be a huge error. Mitsu should leave the premium brands to have a dog-fight. Mitsu needs to come in slightly down-market and make their own niche, in the more cost-conscious segments of the car market? As with the Outlander the market will come to them!

    It's only 45kwh so it's more like 150 miles than 250. Maybe even less than that if it's as brick shaped as the outlander. Still, there is no rival for it, should be very popular if they price it about the same as the Outlander PHEV.

    Hey - Mitsu have never made a van AFAIK - won't you guys settle fir a PHEV pickup with a hardtop - Hard Top Purchasing Guide | Mitsubishi Motors UK

    The L200 (as a PHEV) would be a lot more 'macho than the current Nissan E-van?

    I see its got I3 size wheels.

    Any chance it could be brought to market in the next week or so, as it looks like what I'm after?

    Later in the article it states, "We should note that the stated 400 km range is via the ludicrous JC08 test cycle – this would translate to about ~245 km/150 miles of real-world/EPA range."
