I have seen a C-Zero going for £6500, it is Dec 2012 with 15000 miles.

This seems slightly high compared to some ads on autotrader.

Do you think I can get it down to £5500 or is that hoping too much?

I think £5000 is too much for that, it's pretty old and they don't go far to start with. It might only do 50miles.

You mean it only has a 50 mile range?

It sounds a bit overpriced but if it's local and has a good background, then it could be worth a punt.

EVs are slightly different to traditional cars in that age also comes into account for wear and tear, as well as mileage. The battery will slowly degrade over time regardless of use.

Take it on an extended test drive and you should get about 50/60 miles out of it. It'll be a great little run about and cheap to run, but it is very unlikely it'll still acheive the same range it would when new.

It will be mainly for my wife's commute which is 24 miles round trip.
If I end up using it, my commute is 42 miles round trip.
So I guess we will be able to use it for either journey for 5 years or so...(hopefully)

It'll be fine for your wife and should be do-able for yours- at least yours in summer.

You'll still enjoy the smoothness and the cost savings. Just move the decimal place on your fuel bills - £100 = £10 pm etc. The c-zero will also have a chademo rapid charger which allows it to travel further - often for free.
